Sunday Makeup June'15

Its Sunday. My favourite day of the week. A day where I can woke up late, have a nice and slow brunch then do whatever things that its in my wish list: coffee, sandwich, watch extensive youtube videos, donuts and make up.....etc.

Just to share particularly on make up, here is my choice for this "holy" day of mine:-

For my face:
Mary Kay CC cream in "Very light" &  "Light to Medium" color - This product provide good finish on my face looking fresh and matte. I usually mixed these 2 colors according to my skin tone at the moment so I don't look too pale or too dark.
Shiseido foundation sponge applicator - I mentioned this tools in my previous blog, is it very useful to blend product onto face with flawless finish. Love it.
Majolica Majorca "Puff de Cheeks" #302 - This is a peachy blush for a healthy glow. The colour is subtle and build-able.

For my sleepy eyes:
Eyeko "Lengthening Skinny Brush" mascara - for longer lashes which is great to open the eyes with benefits of pro-vitamin B.
Rimmel "Scandaleyes"eyeliner - this liner has fairly thick tips which surprisingly makes drawing thick eyeliner a breeze. I got this from a friend who travelled to Germany months ago and had been loving this.
Wet n Wild "Sweet as Candy eyeshadows" - this is one of the hype product online by beauty gurus.  Got my hands on this at local Sasa store recently and the price is pretty affordable. So far I am one satisfied customer.

For my lips:
Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Lip Protectant - I got this from Singapore airport while I was traveling last year which become a must have in my lip care routine. Very moisturising without the oily feeling, smell nice as well.
Bobbi Brown Rich Lip color SPF12 in Soft Coral #7 - My favourite lip color at this moment which is also a gift from a friend who travelled.

Young Living: Thieves Mouthwash

Recently has been researching about mouthwash products, to find a suitable ones which is obviously not cancer causing or had chemical contains that may have health side effects. Had been running out previous products which is not so effective.....then I found this from Young Living when I was making order for my essential oils early this month.

It's Thieves Mouthwash.

As the name of this product suggested, it contains "Thieves Essential Oil Blend" which commonly used for cleaning and boost healthy immune support. Some example of how to use Thieves oil,

• Diffuse Thieves essential oils to purify the air at home especially when there is members of the family are having a cold etc.
• Add drops of Thieves in laundry to sterilise.
• Apply Thieves directly onto bottom of feet can help to boost immune system or speed up recovery from fever, infection or flu.

For this particular product, it contains Thieves oil blend as part of its oral care function which particularly good to promote fresh breath with cares on gums and teeth and best of all, the ingredient is more gentle than usual drugstore products. I just starting to use this about few days, so far its good and meet my expectation. The taste is somehow sweet :) and surprisingly it has not-so-strong smells of the essential oil itself. 

My husband has issue with bleeding gums, will continue to monitor if this helps his condition also. :) Here is more info

Hand Gel

This week I wanna share about hand sanitizer. These are a great help for us who always travels to ensure our hands are free of germs. There are many brands out there to choose from which is equally effective as this one that I particularly like due to its smells of margarita haha :) (not that I am alcoholic).

I found this hand gel from Bath & Body Works, they have a lot of flavours to choose from and this particular ones attracts me due to its name and also the little blue dots in its contents.

To be exact it does not really smells like margarita drinks, it actually carries the light smells of lime aroma. It dries easily on my hand, and doesn't dries my hand at all. Skin feels hydrated and clean. Product are relatively small and convenient to be carry around in my purse.

There are also key chain sold which can fits this product together to ease the carrying around, but I didn't get one this round. Maybe next visit, when I almost finish this one and trying out another flavour.

Laneige Sleeping Mask

Its Laneige again :)  Sharing the brand number one best seller - Water Sleeping Mask. To be specific, its a revitalising mask with "Sleepscent" which infused with orange flower, rose, sandalwood, anti-oxidant Hunza Apricot Extract etc. 

I have dry skin but when applying rich moisturising product especially during the night, mostly my pores are easily clogged and turn very oily as fast as after 10 mins. 

This product is in cooling gel type, very hydrating and feels lights when apply on skin. I love it because it doesn't feel heavy or creamy as this is suppose to be sleeping mask where you leave on your face before go to sleep and only wash it in the next morning. 

The smells of this product is divine :) very refreshing and calming as its infused with their popular attribute "Sleepscent", so to maximise the effect of it, I usually do my face massage during application until its fully absorbed. 

I usually stock up when I went travelling, especially if my travel route has a stopover at HK airport specifically. There is this "Duo Set" sell in one pack with about 30% discount off normal price compare to buying only one at normal department store. This is a special offer for flyers only. Its usually left with one or two pack whenever I try to locate this at the counter.

Sephora Triple Cleansing Water

Last few blog, I was blogging about how to clean my make up using my trusted cleansing oil, however recently I had found another new cleansing buddy which also as efficient....introducing Sephora Cleansing Water.

I come across this product quite sometimes when I am browsing in Sephora, but never thought how it is use and whether it can remove make up so never bother to get one to try out. Until, I was browsing some youtube videos and some of the gurus were hyping about cleansing water.

As usual it spikes my interest, so I went to Sephora to get one of their best seller product and here I am, loving it.

Sephora Cleansing Water.

The packaging comes with pump dispenser, so you can put cotton pad on top and press to get the product out. Then gently put it on eyes or lips for few second then wipe off. It is amazing that this water can really cleanse lipstick and even eye make up like mascara.

Skin feels cleanse, and not dry. It is a no-rinse micellar water which good for girls that always on the go, you can just cleanse your face with this product and ready to rock. However, for me I still follow up with a gently facial foam wash ensure no residue is left on my skin.

There are quite a number of popular cleansing water in the market like Simple, Bioderma etc.
I have yet to be able to locate Simple Cleansing water in Penang for comparison, will do a review again when I found it.

Midnight Recovery Concentrate Oil

About 3 years ago, I discovered oils can be a good friend for combination skins (oily & dry) like mine. I was viewing many youtube videos and there is this hype about skin care oils among the make-up gurus. To be honest, I though it was a crazy idea to put on oils onto my already oily T-Zone.

I got my first bottle of skincare oils from Kiehl's - The Midnight Recovery Concentrate oil. It is pure essential oils with some added ingredients which believe to be able to work with skin natural nocturnal activity, repairing itself from daily aggressors and restore healthy skin.

At first I was really skeptical about oils, but I would try anything just to make my skin looks more hydrated or normal at least. I applied the product on my face just before I went to sleep, this particular oils smells really good and smoothing. Its really easily absorb into my skin and its best with some gentle face massage. The next day, I would wake up with more hydrated skin and no oily at all. Surprise :) After my first application, I had been using it alternatively every fortnightly.

One thing need to note about this product is that don't put is around eye area as it may cause "whitish clump" due to that area is very fragile and easily clogged.

This oil is actually yellowish in color and it is kept inside blue-ish color glass bottle. Since its essential oil, it is best to keep away from sun/heat. Hope you find it useful and get the most benefits from this product like I do.

Young Living: Essential Oil

Recently through my Yoga class trainer, I was introduced to Essential Oil benefits for health and fitness purpose. She would difuse the oil during our class and let us sample her oil collection to help us in our concentration during out Yoga session. Then I got hooked. :)

To be specific its Young Living's essential oils. As I do some research online and more digging through pinterest, there is a lot of information about the organization as well as the products. Visit: https://www.youngliving.com/

So, I grab the chance to get March's promotion with my fellow Yoga classmate, to get enough points to earn each one of us an diffuser.

Here is my choices of the essential oils:-

Peppermint: fever reducer, enhance focus, to wake up, mental clarity etc.
Lemon: Detoxification, relaxation, concentration, fresh breath, disinfectant etc.
Lavender: Calming, anti-bacterial, reduce insomnia etc.
Peace & Calming: Peace, stress relieve, relaxation, calm kids, distress etc.
Purification: freshen air, insect repellent, prevent illness, pest control etc.
Frankincense: help anxiety, skin nourish, reduce wrinkles & scaring etc.

Endoflex: regulates thyroid functions, support endocrine system, improves adrenal glands etc.
Joy: Mood enhancer, perfume, reduce depression, uplifting etc.
Lemon: same as above.
Thieves: Cleaning, air purifier, illness prevention, helps reduce sore throat etc.

Diffuser is a device to help dissolve the essential oil for absorption. it is a great way to enjoy essential oil benefit by mixing different oils together. Example if you want to fight flu, mix purification with thieves in your house. It really helps.

For me, the most beneficial oil is Endoflex, as I am a thyroid patient during last 2 years and had one of my thyroid glands has swollen and removed in a surgery. Hope this will helps and will keep monitoring.

There are loads of endless combination of oils usage which could help in our day-to-day life. Hope this sharing enhance your knowledge on essential oils and perhaps it helps you too in some ways.

New Collection - Lippy

Recently had a friend went to Germany for business trip, and I was offered to order what I wanted to get from Europe in general and he would help me to bring back. Well, first things come into my mind was make up related items - Rimmel Kate Moss's edition lipstick.

Over here in where I live, there is Rimmel counter in drugstore, however I couldn't find any of this Kate's limited edition lipsticks. With the hype going on internets, it really its the first things strike in my mind to get one...besides its also easy to fit in luggage space :) Thanks friend if you read this.

Other than Kate's lipstick, Bobbi Brown and NYX were an extra bonus that my thoughtful friend bring back for me as well. From left Bobbi Brown in Bikini Pink, Kate's in 28, Kate's in31, Kate's in 01, and NYX in Hubba Bubba. Below is the swatches on the back of my hand in the same order

From all of these 5 new members, I am loving the Kate's 21, Bobbi Brown in Bikini Pink the most for day to day wear. The rest are great for special occasions or dinner event. 

In comparison, Kate's lipstick are more moisturises and glides on easily while Bobbi Brown texture is just nice - not too dry and not too greasy. NYX lipstick may appear drier but the colour is great.

Estee Lauder Skin Care

Last week I run out of my Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Serum, so I went out to get another one during the weekend and end up with more than a serum. :)

I remembered my very first bottle of the Advanced Night Repair Serum was last year during a mega sales. I read about this product for quite some times, it has been recognised as the most effective anti-aging products in the market and many successful business woman swear by it. I can say I am quite agree with them after using it. The product come in very fine texture, smells nice and easily get absorb into my skin. After few days of application, my skin are visibly more firm and dewy.

So, here I am after visit the Estee Lauder counter, I am back home with few more products on hand to try out :) This time around, the sales lady recommend I would pair the serum with Micro Essence - Skin Activating Treatment lotion to maximise the effect of the products. This Essence is also said to be similar to SKII miracle water.

I had been using these pair for 1 week now, and I am very satisfy with the results. My skin feels more vitalise and fresh each time I am using it.  My complexion appears to be clearer and foundation are easily applied.

One tips that I got from extensive you-tubing videos...this serum can be use during the day, especially before apply foundation. It would gives you a beautiful finish as if you just did your facial.

To add on, I get some travel size samples to try out as well :)

Favourite Eyeliner

I had been loving eyeliner for a long time....reason is simple - it makes my eyes looks bigger and more awake. It is a skill that I had been trying to master since I started to know about make up. Although in earlier years, I can't seems to get the line accurate or as close to inner eyelid, it is through many practice, practice and practice that gets me the results that I wanted.

Through my experiments, I had come across pencil eyeliner, liquid eyeliner, gel eyeliner from different brands. I am proud to say that I had found my beloved and trusted eyeliner for now :)

It is non-other than "Stila Stay All Day waterproof liquid eyeliner"

First utmost important about this eyeliner is that it really stay all day on eyelid and doesn't smudge easily. This is very important as I do not want my eyes looks like Panda at the end of the day especially in the office. The tips of the pen is fine enough for precision application and the flow of the ink are consistent and dry easily.

This is already my 3rd eyeliner in same color - black. :D

I do tried their other type of eyeliner known as smudge sticks in blue colour, however the application is not as easy as the above liquid eyeliner. It really smudges easily, so need more skilful hands to apply this beautifully.

Overall, this liquid eyeliner pen is my current most favourite eyeliner that I would use daily and loving it.

Nesti Dante

Recently my skin has become very dry and I tends to unintentionally scratches on my legs and body coz its itchy. So, I am on a search for better lotions or bath gel to ease this situation. One day, I found this mini store which sells soap with cute packaging.

Its "Nesti Dante" which is luxury homemade soup from Florence, Italy. I got a demo from the sales girl at the stall where she put on the soup on my hand and lathers gently. Surprisingly is that the bubbles developed are so soft and delicate, and after wash it leaves a pretty pleasant scent and skin feels clean without the normal soupy dryness that I normally get.

There is wide range of different flavour of soup with unique scent, like "Romantica", "Philosophia", "Lavanda", "Le Rose", "Bio Natura" etc. Its enrich with rich oil and functional substances in top quality, best of all it doesn't contain any synthetic surfactants which normally irritates sensitive skins. 

I chosen "Philosophia"range, as its focus of giving vitamin E and collagen to skin which I needed the most at this time. 

So far, I had tried the pink ones - "lift" for almost 1 week, skin feels cleans and not that drying compare when I am using other brands bath gel. Love it. The products prices ranges from RM38 to RM68. According to the sales girl, one soup normally can last for 2-3 months with twice daily use. Well, finger crossed, I hope my skin would improve after using this for longer period of time.

Shu Umera Make Up Remover

Since I discovered the magic of make up :), I had been looking for best make up remover to keep my skin clean and clear after long hours of wearing cosmetic product especially foundation and eye make up.

There are quite a number of products in market, it can come in the form of foam wash, milky/creamy wash, or remover oil etc. I particularly finds remover oil is the best suits for my combination of normal/dry skin type as it cleans and moisturises simultaneously.
When looking for such product, I am focusing on few things:

• how does the texture feels like when apply onto face - whether it has a smooth feeling when massage, how it felt when product leave staying for few minutes etc.
• how it emulsify when water is added - does it feel too watery or milky
• how the end results - does skin feel clean and moisturise, or tight and dry etc.

After years of trial and error, I have been switching from drugstore products from Biore, Hada Labo to famous make up brands like Bobbi Brown, Mac and Shu Umera. I discovered Shu Umera make up remover oil is the best product I had ever used. It has a smooth texture and easy to be absorb onto my face whenever I massage into my face after a long day. The smells is divine and not over powering. Skip feels a lot cleaner and refresh after wash as the name of the product suggested - Skin purifier.

This is actually my 3rd bottle of 450ml packaging. With daily use, one bottle like this can easily last me for 4 months or more which make this value for money as well. I bought this at Parkson Departmental Store - RM260.

I chosen "Anti/Oxi"type of cleansing oil as I wanted to also add some antioxidant effect during face cleansing. If this is use in longer period, it shall provide additional benefits of clearing your skin pigmentation and give your fairer complexion. A combo for me :)

Real Techniques Makeup Brushes

I started to use makeup brush only in 2014, and found it is very helpful to perfect the end results of my make up routine. At some point, it also more hygienic in application.

There is this hype about Real Technique's brushes which design by a blogger herself - Samantha Chapman. So, I decided to try these brushes and fell in love with it. Its not only easy to apply products on face, also easy to clean as well.

First sets of brushes I got is these 3
1) Foundation brush 2) Multi Task Brush 3) Domed Shadow Brush
All the brushes are great for the application, especially the Multi Task Brush which I love to use it as my overall powder brush.

After 1 months, I felt I needed more brushes :p typical....so, I went and got the 2nd set which consist of these 4
1) Contour Brush 2) Pointed Foundation Brush 3) Detailer Brush 4) Buffing Brush
I like the Buffing brush a lot, it helps with the foundation application. Also, found that I use less products as well if I use these brushes to apply.

I love these brushes a lot, looking forward to collect more type of brush from Samantha Chapman. :)
